PDF metadata removed and verified
Document information and detected XMP metadata streams were removed. The PDF is re-serialized; review the output before relying on it.
How PDF metadata cleaning works
The cleaner removes PDF document information entries, including standard fields and custom keys, clears creation and modification timestamps, and removes catalog- and page-level XMP metadata streams. It also removes unreferenced metadata objects during sanitization.
The PDF is parsed and re-serialized locally in your browser. This is not a redaction tool and does not remove text, annotations, form values, attachments, or other document content. Encrypted, password-protected, or digitally signed PDFs are rejected.
PDF structure handling
| Structure | Action | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Standard DocInfo | Cleared | Standard properties, keywords, producer, creator, and timestamps. |
| Custom /Info keys | Removed | Custom entries from the document information dictionary. |
| Catalog and page XMP | Removed | Detected metadata streams at document and page scope. |
| Visible content | Not redacted | Text, annotations, forms, attachments, and visual content are not removed. |
| Encrypted PDFs | Rejected | Password-protected and encrypted inputs are refused. |
